Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The word for “fullness” is most interesting.
Imagine a bottle filled with Coca Cola.
What is Coca Cola?
Is it the bottle, or is it the liquid inside?
It is that brown, sweet, delightful syrup that we gulp and enjoy.
So what is this liquid made up from?
It’s made up of every ingredient impeccably mixed in its required amounts, and meticulous order, so that it can be officially recognized and labeled as Coca Cola.
This is the fullness of Coca Cola!
The fullness of Coca Cola is the essence and nature of this liquid, which makes it to be Coca Cola, and nothing else but Coca Cola.
Fullness excludes everything else in the universe, except the one thing which gives that objects its fullness.
The fullness of God then, defines the very essence, and reality of who God is, so that He can be recognized and labeled as God, exclusive of anything else in the universe.
The church is that the one human enterprise which is divinely engineered to reveal the fullness of God to the world.
This is a colossal duty which the church has.
Everything which Christian leaders implement within the church should be towards meeting this end.
Unfortunately, many other things, rather than this, are the focus of the church.
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:·
The church is a man!
Who is this man?
It is Christ Jesus.
He is the resurrected God Man.
The word perfect defines a fully-grown man.
The church has the capacity to reveal Christ Jesus in the stature of the fullness which makes Him the perfect God Man, to the world.
Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
Revival comes not through legislating morality but by lifting this perfect man in elevation so that all can see Him.
A city set on a hill, cannot be hid because of her elevation
When the church manifests this perfect man in the stature of His fullness revival comes.
This is why every local church must be a center of revival in the community where it is placed.
Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
This perfect man is manifested in glory.
Glory is what makes the invisible God to become visible.
Glory is what manifests this perfect man, Christ Jesus, to the world.
Se we note that the church has three endowments.
She can reveal the perfect man Christ Jesus.
She reveals this perfect man because she has the capacity to manifest the fullness which makes up this perfect man.
Finally, the church can manifest this perfect man in His fullness because she is gifted with the glory of this perfect man to makes Him visible.
What needs to change in today’s church to meet these three objectives?
This is what makes the church so remarkable that she stands out in the world
What should be the prayers of church leaders, then?
What should be the activities within the local church?
What things need to change in the way that we do church?
