Luke 5: 26 And wonder overcame them all, and they gave glory to God; and they were full of fear, saying, We have seen strange things today.
Literal Greek: “We have seen paradoxes today. “
A paradox is a strange, baffling, or contradictory thing.
It comes from two words, “beside or near to the glory.”
When God shows up, He manifests things paradoxical, illogical and irrational.
At the end, all of His doings become magnificent.
We cannot place God in our perceptual box and mandate that He be demonstrated in the confines of our “comfortable, cookie cutter, and theologically correct” thinking. Because, He won’t!
Secondly,if you want to function in God’s glory, you must embrace the paradoxical.
If you cant, don’t seek His glory!
The glory of God is many times paradoxical, and strange.
This is why many do not want to believe in Him.
Western countries like America, seek comfort and ease. If God is not manifested like this or that we are offended.
We are offended with God because He is paradoxical.
But to those who believe Him like “little children” and love His paradoxes, He is amazing!
