What Is The Ultimate Purpose For Charismatic Gifts?

Both Romans 5:16 and 18, are my paraphrase, written as such, to bring out the Greek meaning.

Ro 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the charismatic gift is for the sake of many offences in order to produce the effect which causes the rightening of life.

Ro 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so the production of the effect by one which makes things right, came upon all men unto the subsequent rightening of life.

There are many varied and suitable meanings for the words, righteousness or righteous.

For sure, in all of them there is the idea of making things right.

We only have to observe  the words righteous or righteousness to note the incorporated word,” right”, within them.

God’s righteousness brings back fallen humanity, and everything which is wrong with it, and makes it once again as right, as perfect, and whole as He is.

There is an acquired righteousness which is automatically and immediately accredited to the person when she accepts Christ.

This acquired righteousness allows the Father to deal with the person in the same way that He deals with His son Jesus.

This is because the Father sees her as perfect as Jesus through the glass of the  person’s accredited righteousness.

The Christian also grows in God’s tangible or manifested righteousness which works itself from the spirit, through the soul and into the person’s body.

This righteousness will conclude after God establishes a new world, stamps out sin, and casts out Satan, in Christians having glorified and eternal bodies just like His.

The goal of manifested righteousness can be understood in the passage out of Colossians.

Col 1:22  in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblamable and unreprovable in His sight,

The dreadful price which Jesus Christ endured on the cross guarantees  that we will be as tangibly righteous, or right,  as God is Himself.

Ro 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the charismatic gift is for the sake of many offences in order to produce the effect which causes the rightening of life.

Ro 5:18  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so the production of the effect by one which makes things right came upon all men unto the subsequent rightening of life.

The two verses out of Romans five are stunning in what they declare.

Both of them engage relatively rare words which do not describe righteousness per se, but rather the “rightening” process of righteousness.

This is the path of the Spirit’s sanctification which frees a man and progressively makes all things that were wrong in his life, right again.

Righteousness is the rightening once again of the former wronging of all things.

The rightening of life is the road to manifested righteousness.

Remember one again;  God’s righteousness brings back fallen humanity, and everything which is wrong with it, and makes it once again as right, as perfect, and whole as He is.

The rightening of life is the God energized  effect, or the sanctifying process of the Holy Spirit, that brings the person back to God’s righteousness.

Read these verses carefully and get the revelation. Their treasures could have fit in Saint Thomas Aquinas’s , Summa Theologica.

Ro 5:16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the charismatic gift is for the sake of many offences in order to produce the effect which causes the rightening of life.

Now take note of the use of charismatic gift in Romans five.

1Co 12:4  Now there are diversities of charismatic gifts but the same Spirit.

1Co 12:9  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the charismatic gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

It’s precisely the same Greek word employed in scriptures out of Corinthians which we Pentecostals quote in our teachings of charismatic gifts.

Romans five tells us that Jesus gives us the charismatic gift so that by it,  produce a result or effect that will result in the rightening of life.

So every  time that you pray for somebody’s healing, or give them a word of prophecy, or cast a demon out, exercise your faith into obtaining the rightening of life in all that has been wrong in that person’s life through the charismatic gift.
