The Opthamologist and The Blind Bird

Joh 3:1   There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

2  The same came to Jesus by night and said unto Him, “Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, unless God be with him.”

3  Jesus answered and said unto him, “Verily, verily I say unto thee, unless a man be born again ( begotten all over again), he cannot see ( it’s impossible for him to discern) the Kingdom of God.”

4  Nicodemus said unto Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

5  Jesus answered, “Verily, verily I say unto thee, unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter( it’s impossible for him to enter)  into the Kingdom of God.

6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. ( that having been generated out of the flesh, flesh is, and that having been generated out of the spirit, spirit is.)

7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’ (It is obligatory for you to be begotten or generated all over again or anew.)

This morning I had a vision of a bird with extremely calcified cataracts. The opafication of the bird’s eyes was hugely severe. This bird, I knew, was completely blind.

The bird symbolizes every human being who does not have Christ Jesus living in their spirits.

Eph 2:5  even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened ( brought us back to life) us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved),

Adam and Eve were created as eternal humans  If they did not sin, Jesus Christ would not have come and died for our sins.

Joh 4:24  God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

God is a Spirit. His  intercommunication with man is spirit to spirit.

His conversation with Adam and Eve was spirit to spirit.

Eph 2:5  even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened ( brought us back to life) us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved),

When this “First Couple” sinned, their connection to God was severed, that is, spirit to spirit.

By all intents their spirits died. They became inactive, unresponsive and unseeing to the things of God.

It was at the time of The Fall, that this bird developed his cataracts.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, “Verily, verily I say unto thee, unless a man be born again ( begotten all over again), he cannot see ( it’s impossible for him to discern) the Kingdom of God.”

Eph 2:5  even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened ( brought us back to life) us together with Christ (by grace ye are saved),

When a man or woman receives Jesus Christ, through personal invitation, Christ in the Person of the Holy Spirit tangibly enters into the person’s spirit, to dwell there forever.

Bang!

The dead spirit is jolted to life once again.

It’s spirit to spirit.

Communication with the Almighty is restored!

Ears can hear, and eyes can see again!

A cataract surgery  is executed. The cataracts are gone.

The Holy Spirit issues a brand new set of lenses.

The bird can see!  Hallelujah!

So what happens in a cataract surgery?

Let’s look at Wikipedia says.

“Cataract surgery is the removal of the natural lens of the eye (also called “crystalline lens”) that has developed an opacification, which is referred to as a cataract.

During cataract surgery, a patient’s cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with a synthetic lens to restore the lens’ transparency.

Following surgical removal of the natural lens, an artificial intraocular lens implant is inserted (eye surgeons say that the lens is “implanted”).

Cataract surgery is generally performed by an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) in an ambulatory (rather than inpatient) setting, in a surgical center or hospital, using local anesthesia (either topical, peribulbar, or retrobulbar), usually causing little or no discomfort to the patient.

Well over 90% of operations are successful in restoring useful vision, with a low complication rate.”

Excerpts copied from Wikipedia’s article on Cataract Surgery.

Without this born again experience, the bird’s lenses are hopelessly opacified.

The only solution is for the bird to get new ones.

The spiritual ophthalmologist is the Christian.

Not every Christian is called in the office of the evangelist but every Christian is called as an ophthalmologist.

How foolish it is to be an ophthalmologist and have no one to operate on. Everybody that surrounds you can see!

This is what occurs when we stay within the four walls of our churches.

Jesus said “ if the blind lead the blind they will fall into a ditch.”

I say, “If an ophthalmologist only hangs out with the seeing, he is trapped in a ghetto.”

My Christian friend, if we who are the spiritual ophthalmologists of the world relate only with those whom can see and pay no heed to those who are need of cataract surgery , we have marginalized ourselves into ghetto living. We live in a Christian ghetto.

How will we answer God when He asks, “What did you do with your ophthalmological skills?”

Joh 4:35  Say not ye, ‘There are yet four months and then cometh the harvest’? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest.

There is a world full of blind birds. Most of them are desperately trying to see, but need the surgery, and don’t know it. They are looking for God, but can’t see to find Him.

I hate standing in a corner and passing out Christian materials but love asking a person if I can pray for them. Very few times has the response been a no. Mostly everybody wants a prayer!

If you don’t know where to embark into your ophthalmology career begin by asking someone if you can pray for them, but by all means do begin operating.
