Be Dumb To Your Smart Phones

Col 3:10  and have put on (slip into/ aorist)  the new ( young or teenage) man, which is renewed in ( into) knowledge ( full and accurate knowledge/ accusative case) after ( according)  the image of Him that created ( aorist) him ,

The new humanity which we are to clothe ourselves in Christ, is a young, youthful, invigorated, teenage man. This is Christ Jesus in you.

The word  for new, “neos”, is someone who is of few chronological years in age.

I believe that life in heaven will find  everybody as teenagers, not in character, but as to age of their eternal body.

Whoever accepts Christ will never die. Death on this planet is an instantaneous, twinkling of an eye translation, from a transitory to a perpetual state. There is no experience of an actual death, at least to the one dying.

Col 3:10  and have put on (slip into/ aorist)  the new ( young or teenage) man, which is renewed in ( into) knowledge ( full and accurate knowledge/ accusative case) after ( according)  the image of Him that created ( aorist) him ,

This new humanity must be entirely put on by you. Better yet, you must completely slip into it, like an astronaut slips into a space suit.

It does not occur in an instance. It’s a progressive slipping into, in proportion to the renewing of our mind into the revelation of the image of Christ in you.

The aorist tense, is the photographic tense of completion, entirety, and totality. Hence you must dress yourself wholly with this teen age man.

9  Do not lie one to another, seeing that ye have put off ( slipping out or off ; totally shedding/ aorist tense) the old man ( nursing home) with ( together with) his deeds ( habits or practices or strongholds),

You must then completely put on this new man and utterly shed off the old man, as a snake sheds off it skin.

This old man is the decrepit , nursing home man which housed your sinful nature.

Until you totally shed off the old man, you cannot utterly slip into the new man.

Any vestige of the old man, will keep the emergence of the teenage age man bound, and in check,  from fully being revealed in, and manifested through you.

8  But now ye also put off ( be placing off from yourself/ aorist tense)all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Where there is unforgiveness, anger, or offence towards a human being, the old man will remain hooked somewhere in you  and will prevent the new man from fully being recognized in you.

Col 3:10  and have put on (slip into/ aorist)  the new ( young or teenage) man, which is renewed in ( into) knowledge ( full and accurate knowledge/ accusative case) after ( according)  the image of Him that created ( aorist) him ,

The new man is created in proportion to our full and precise knowledge of the image of Christ in us.  This is the work of the renewal of the mind.

If you notice, “ in knowledge”, should really be, “ into knowledge.”

Knowledge, is in the accusative case, which points to the final goal, aim, and result.

The goal of our walk with the Lord must be to press into the precise and accurate revelation knowledge of His image in us.

That is, if we want to live in this out of the box, transcendental, without limits, teen age humanity, which functions in the abilities normal to an endless life.

If that’s so, your aim must be to press into  the fullness of the revelation knowledge of Christ Jesus, who is the teen age man in you.

There is no other way to do this than through a devout and serious study of the Word of God.

Smart phone Bibles will not do it.

It’s my belief that an elementary knowledge of NT Greek is required to enter into the type of knowledge which will allow you to fully slip on the new man and fully shed off the old man.

If you feel okay with remaining in some bondage to the decrepit nursing home humanity which the world spends trillions to beautify and keep alive, continue to study your Bibles from your smart phones.

But if you really want to be smart, then be dumb to your phone and smart to obtaining a basic knowledge of NT Greek. Shalom.
