Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Romans 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
I remember my adult daughter wearing a latex mask of a famous personality during a little Halloween party at our condominium. I even put it on and was impressed at the realness of the depicted individual.
1Pe 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Romans 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
Peter teaches us that the Christian has an inheritance guarded in heaven. The inheritance in an invisible spirirtual plane becomes plainly accessible to us by a process called the reckoning of faith.
Reckoning is something like crediting and depositing money into your bank account, but not using physical means; rather we use faith.
By the process of reckoning, which entails faith without doubt, we transfer out from our spiritual inheritance until God brings it to bear as reality in our natural world.
Many years ago, an unsuspecting lady backed up her car as I was walking into a Seven Eleven. Her metal bumper crashed into my thigh. Not only did she never see me, but drove away unaware of what happened.
Needless to say this injury produced varicose veins in my left leg.
God has been slowly healing me through, yes of course, the reckoning of faith.
At least for me, as God delivers me, sometimes the pain or oppression becomes acute, even the point of being unbearable.
These last 48 hours my leg has hurt and I know that God is bringing me to a point of more healing or deliverance.
When I went on my knees this morning I had a vision, and an answer towards my healing. I saw the shell of a latex body stripped from me and hung on the cross of Jesus. Not just a latex facial mask, but an entire latex body. These scriptures came to mind.
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Of course, sickness, and disease are located in the physical body of the old man, our old identity.
Philipp 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
The King James incorrectly translates “ His glorious body” in Philippians. It really should read “ the body of His glory’
If we put off the latex body of disease, brokenness, pain, and bondage by the reckoning of faith, and hang it on the cross of Christ, what is left to us is the body of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, which we likewise reckon into reality by faith.
This is why Paul so adeptly tells us; put off the latex body of garbage and put on the body of the glory of Christ Jesus. The body of the glory of the Lord is free from sickness and pain.
All of us for many years not only wear, but cling to and embrace the old latex body. The sinful nature is so identified with pain and so alienated with freedom.
Anyways, now that I finally took off my Halloween mask and body of sickness and pain I am already putting on my new body of the glory of the Lord. So should you too.
1Co 15:42 That is how it will be when the dead come back to life. When the body is planted, it decays. When it comes back to life, it cannot decay.
1Co 15:43 When the body is planted, it doesn’t have any splendor and is weak. When it comes back to life, it has splendor and is strong.
1Co 15:44 It is planted as a physical body. It comes back to life as a spiritual body. As there is a physical body, so there is also a spiritual body.
