Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest( katapausis): although the works were finished(Ginomai:become)(aorist passive)from the foundation of the world.
“Rest”: Greek: Katapausis ( An absolute pause or a complete stop)
“Finished”; Ginomai (To become)
God completed all creative works in six days. This does not mean that God does not work today, because He does. But His work is to show what He already accomplished.
The rest of the Lord is the Greek “katapausis” from where our word “ pause” comes. Kata is to pull or yank something down to obtain. It expresses emphasis. Katapausis is “pulling down the pause” to produce an absolute pause or a complete stop.
So God has His “ absolute pause or complete stop”!
Should we not long to enter the Almighty’s “absolute pause”?
God paused because He unequivocally completed all. We arrive into God’s absolute pause when we realize that all is completed and exists as a reality upon that foundation. This is our sitting at the right hand of God the Father to rule. This is the confidence of faith. This is the operation of revelation knowledge.
We sit on “the throne of the absolute pause” and reign from it by authority and faith.

“Although the works were finished” should read “although the works having been become.” This is in the Greek aorist passive tense.
To summarize from yesterday’s study on the aorist passive, I have pasted the following.
The aorist Greek verb tense defines an event as something completed. It can be used for a past or for a future occurrence as long as it stresses the event in its completion. The content of the happening does not matter, just its completion.
The passive voice is action done upon the subject. In other words, the subject of the sentence does not do the actions, rather she receives them. The subject enters into a state of reality or existence because the verbal actions are being performed on her.
So every work of God has already become and exists eternally in the “already become” state.
So does God work today? Absolutely! God does more than work, He performs.
What is performance? To work, labor, perform and carry out something to a successful completion. It is the labor which achieves, completes and produces a desired result. To perform, is the act of bringing something about as a clear and obviously accomplished event or outcome, by work, labor, and efficient performance.
The Greek word for performance or performing is “ergazomai.”
Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest ( aorist passive), that they are wrought ( Perform:Ergazomai) (perfect passive) in God.
God’s absolute pause came because His works have been already been done and by existence stand forevermore completed and manifested.
The perfect tense is a bit more powerful than the aorist. The aorist describes the event simply in its completion without attention to content. The perfect not only stresses the completion, but the content as well. The perfect tells us that something was completed in the past but the impact is as real now, and forevermore, as when it first occurred.

God has not only completed all works, but has performed them as manifested and clear results. What God did, He wants the world to see. He has completed all works in the Spirit and totally manifested them to the visible eye.
But God need the Christian to perform as well. I am not talking about carnal performance or performing religiously out of guilt. The performance of God is in the spirit. It comes from the “ the throne of the absolute pause.” Our performance is to manifest the completed works of God to a fallen humanity.
Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh ( Perform:Ergazomai) hitherto, and I work ( Perform:Ergazomai).
Joh 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work (Perform:Ergazomai) the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Joh 9:4 I must work (Perform:Ergazomai) the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work (Perform:Ergazomai).
Since God is invisible, He uses the believer to make Him visible. The Christian is the uniquely engineered creation which makes the invisible things of God visible.
So God performs inwardly in the believer and the believer performs outwardly to reveal the completed works of God from the throne of the absolute pause. The performance of the believer is both to bring the completed works of God to bear and manifest them to the naked eye.
I can’t stress enough that our minds must be renewed, because here does the Christian learn how to perform in the Spirit. Our greatest enemy is not the devil, but the unrenewed mind.
Once the Christian knows that the works of God and their manifestation are complete he can execute them from the throne of the absolute pause.
