Eph 2;6 And hath raised us up together(aorist tense), and made us sit together(aorist tense) in heavenly places ( in the world or sphere of places and locations on the heavens) in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Literal: That in the continual and in the now present, emphatically coming eternal ages, He might display with clear proof, the transcendental riches of His grace upon the church, in the dimension of kindness, or because God just wants to be kind to people.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship created (aorist tense) in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained (aorist tense) that we should walk in them.
Workmanship: End product, a result, a made thing, an accomplishment.
The aorist Greek verb tense defines an event as something completed. It can be used for a past or for a future occurrence as long as it stresses the event in its completion. The content of the happening does not matter, just its completion.
Look at Paul’s play with the aorist tense. “God hath raised us up.” That is a completed occurrence. Our old identity has disappeared by the process of crucifixion which killed it, and burial which hid it out of sight, and decomposed it out of memory.
Because we are raised, Christ gave us a co sitting with Him on His throne. This is also in the aorist.
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
The writer of Hebrews calls this sitting as at the “right hand of the great togetherness in the heights.
Christ’s sitting is no mere sitting. He had the right to sit because He conquered all. The sitting was the privilege of the conquering. Christ vanquished all enemies and obtained all victories. Because of this, God the Father gave Him the right to sit. His seat is the universe’s ultimate chair. By His amazing kindness, Christ has allowed the Christian to co sit in this very chair. This is the “great togetherness.” Notice the aorist tense. It’s a done deal.
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Literal: That in the continual and in the now present, emphatically coming eternal ages, He might display with clear proof, the transcendental riches of His grace upon the church, in the dimension of kindness, or because God wants to be kind to people.
The power of God’s kingdom in the ”present now”, continually transmits upon the earth. As a radio or a TV operates at certain frequencies, but need receivers which tune it, so the frequency of God’s eternal kingdom, powerfully zaps the world . If you don’t have the Holy Spirit you won’t pick it up.
Mr 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled (perfect passive), and the kingdom of God is at hand (perfect): repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Literal: The season has been filled (perfect passive) and the kingdom of God has drawn near (perfect), so get a brainwashing (by the renewal of the mind,) so that you can do its works.
Look at my explanation of the perfect tense and the passive voice.
We can see that the kingdom is alive and well on planet earth!
The perfect tense is a bit more powerful than the aorist. The aorist describes the event simply in its completion without attention to content. The perfect not only stresses the completion, but the content as well. The perfect tells us that something was completed in the past but the impact is as real now, and forevermore, as when it first occurred.
The passive voice is action done upon the subject. In other words, the subject of the sentence does not do the actions, rather she receives them. The subject enters into a state of reality or existence because the verbal actions are being performed on her.
Mr 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled (perfect passive), and the kingdom of God is at hand (perfect): repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The season has been filled (perfect passive) and the kingdom of God has drawn near (perfect); get a brainwashing so that you can do its works.
“Repent” is the word metanoeo. “Noeo” comes from the word “nous” which is the brain with all cognitive and thinking abilities.
True repentance has little to do with crying and the beating of the chest. Repentance is transformation through the renewal of the mind, so that we can enter into the kingdom and do its works. This kingdom drew near 2000 years ago and continues in that state or realm.
Repentance is a brainwashing, renewal and transformation by the word of God so that we can enter into His mysteries and then function in His power.
More than your “I am sorry tears” God wants your brain washed.
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
So through the believer who co sits with Him on the chair of the great togetherness, God wants to with undisputable proof, shower the transcendental riches of His kindness upon people.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship created (aorist tense) in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained ( before made ready or prepared) (aorist tense) that we should walk in them.
Workmanship: The product, a result, a made thing, an accomplishment.
The believer is Gods trophy or God’s product. She is the achievement, the end product, the made thing, and the greatest accomplishment of God among humanity. By that I mean, that in Christ, she is complete, though not fully manifested as such in this life.
But all that God has, is, and wants to do, dwells completed in the Christian. All of God’s works from the beginning of creation dwell completed and perfected in the believer. Christ and all the archetypes, blueprints, and prototypes of God’s produced creation lives in the Christian. This is why Paul calls the Christian, God’s workmanship.
As the product and the zenith of humanity, the Christian, the workmanship of God, has all the works of the kingdom, perfectly prepared and made ready in her. Through her, God displays them as transcendental riches of kindness. What she needs is revelation of what has been already prepared in her.
We can see a small glimpse of the heart of God for the believer. It’s simply not about going to church. LOL!
In closing, I found the Great Harvest scripture. If this is not convicting, I don’t know what else is.
Ro 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Blessings on this Friday!
Literal: With outstretched necks people around the world are anxiously waiting to welcome the revelation of God’s sons. (That is not self-righteous and “holier than thou” people, but those who know the Heavenly Father)
