Forgive Us Dad Hagin!

Jesus works through aorist faith. The aorist Greek verb tense defines an event as something completed. It can be used for a past or for a future occurrence as long as it stresses the event in its completion. The content of the happening does not matter, just its completion.

Greek scholars call some instances of the aorist, the puncticular aorist. The term puncticular is just what it says. It’s a punctuation mark of completion on history’s time line that once occurred, or that will be.

Jesus mind operates aoristly, and so must ours. This is the renewal of the mind

Rom 3:27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

A law is a principle that affirms that under particular conditions, specific consequences will always occur.  Hence the law of gravity,  or the law of sin and death, or even the law of the Spirit of the Life INSIDE of the revealed Person of  Christ Jesus, which is stronger than the Law of Sin and Death.

Because, faith is a law, it will obtain what we believe for, positive or negative.

The Bible teaches what we must believe and not believe. If we do not study its pages how will we know? In ignorance can we apply the law of faith to mistaken things and get wrong results? “ You betcha!” The world is a history book of wrong results obtained by misapplied faith acquired from a wrong belief system. Hence the work of the devil which makes him so gleeful.

Mt 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,  (aorist) so be it done ( aorist passive imperative) unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus tells the centurion that in the way which he believed, so be it done. The word believed is in the aorist. Our faith has the ability to see something as completed, or for that fact, partially completed, or not completed. Jesus only saw all commands from the Father as completed events. If we see what we pray for as only partially competed or not completed, it’s what is called doubt.  Our minds are not sufficiently renewed.

You will get in proportion to how completely or incompletely you see something with the eyes of your spirit. In the exact proportion that you believe that what you ask from God is completed, is exactly the same proportion that you will get it. If you ask with doubt, that what you request is not completely done, your will only receive the part or fraction of what you believed as done. This is because faith is a law.

The results of pure aorist faith are  impressive.

Mt 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,  (aorist) so be it done ( aorist passive imperative) unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

“ So be it done”  is in the aorist passive imperative ( TVM or Tense, Voice, Mood)  Literally, the Greek says “Let it be, become, being.”

The passive voice is action done upon the subject. In other words, the subject of the sentence does not do the actions, rather she receives them. The subject enters into a state of reality or existence because the verbal actions are being performed on her.

The imperative mood is one of command.

Pure aorist faith, takes a situation and alters its existence or reality by commanding it to change into something new.

Literally, the Greek says “Let it be, become, being.”  The “ let it be” is the imperative mood.  “The become” is the aorist tense of a completed event, and  the “being” is the passive voice of existence.  We can say, “ let the occurrence become at once, and let it remain forevermore in this new state of reality or existence.”

Every time that we command aoristly by the faith of a completed event, we must receive like this. This is the vital work of the renewing of the mind.

Mark 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say (aorist)  unto this mountain, Be thou removed (aorist), and be thou cast(aorist)  into the sea; and shall not doubt (aorist) in his heart, but shall believe (aorist) that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (aorist)

The same goes for speaking by the Spirit.  Look at the aorist tense of completed events in how Jesus speaks and commands by the voice of the Spirit.

I met a wonderful man of God by the name of Robbie Dawkins. This preacher and  evangelist reminded me that Jesus never asked God the Father to do anything.  Jesus spoke to situations, demons, and circumstances and commanded them to do His bidding.

Robbie said that Jesus stripped Himself from the privileges of being God and came to earth as a man. He laid down His “ Super God  Action Figure” powers and as man depended solely on the power of the  Spirit.  Because of this, we can work in exactly the same fashion as Him.

“Jesus”, Dawkins said, “specialized in the prayer of command.” That is vital my friends. Jesus always commanded and His prayer was always one of command.  I think that more than anything, when not sleeping, Jesus commanded. So must we!

God’s perennial and archetypical invisible word is manifested by us in this broken world by the prayer of command in conjunction with the voice of the Spirit.

We must stop fretting and start creating, and there is lots to create!. All is already ours so start to command it to happen and always by the voice of the Spirit

In the prayer of command, Jesus teaches us to speak directly to the situation. The content of what we wish to create must be in the aorist. We must have the completed event in our imaginations and heart as we utter it forth.

Say to this mountain, “ be thou removed”, is uttered as the event of the  mountain moved  as a completed fact. “ But shall believe and shall not doubt” are also completed events. The believing is seeing the event of the mountain removed and cast into the sea, as completed. The not doubting means that you will not doubt in your believing.  You do this by taking every thought captive.

In finalizing, please study a few more scriptures with the “Let it be, become, being” formula.

Matt 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it (aorist)  unto you.

“Be it”…Let it be, become, being. “

Mt 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it ( aorist) unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

“Be it”…Let it be, become, being.

Observe  the Greek play of words  in what Jesus utters by the prayer of command to the fig tree. Look at the amazing creative power of our words.

Mark 11:14  And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat ( aorist tense) fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

“From this moment, after this… takes effect, and never again, into all eternity of eternities, may no one eat (aorist) fruit out of thee.” Wow!  Look at the aorist power that we have.

We have erred in throwing out the “word of faith” movement as the baby with his bath water. We must learn to chew the meat and spit out of the bones.

Forgive us, Kenneth “Dad” Hagin, and Kenneth Copeland.

Blessings on this Monday.
