Are There Laws In The World Of The Holy Spirit?

This was from a teaching in a Home Group in Albuquerque, NM in 2003

Where Are We Supposed To Live?

John 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 17:14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

A New World System is Found in the Baptism of the Spirit.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about newness because of age but because it is novel.

Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about age.

Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

This world system has been eternally crucified to us so that we can live in the world system of the Holy Spirit.

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about age.

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

As many as march as a spiritual soldier by the rule of finding their newness of life in the world system of the Holy Spirit, shalom peace upon them, and mercy, on the Israel of God.

Titus 3: 5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Another birth, re-production, re-creation; the provision for reproduction in the world of the Holy Spirit is one that creates newness of life.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about age.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared (Perfect/ accusative) as a bride adorned (Perfect/ accusative)  for her husband.

Adorned is from the word cosmetics.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about age.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in LOCATION, INSTRUMENTALITY) Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become (PERFECT TENSE; COMPLETION WITH ETERNAL IMPACT) new.

Newness-recently made, new in kind, quality, substance and essence.  It is unused, unworn, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of. This is not talking about age.

I am convinced that if any believer commits him or herself to go deep enough into the world of the Spirit, the will experience healing from any and every disease or bondage, which is not related to the natural progression of age.   The deeper we live in the world of the Spirit, the more that we will enter a life that is diametrically opposed to the life here on earth.

It is the “spiritual Garden of Eden” new in kind, substance, essence, and quality; it the very life of heaven as opposed to the conditions here on earth.

1 Cor 5:7  Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Now , the word new means to be recently born, young and youthful.  Not talking about newness in essence, substance, kind or type.

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Sincerity (Greek: “Judged by the rays of the sun”) A metamorphosis into the chronologically young and youthful spiritual man that will allow for a purity that allows for the sun’s rays to shine unhindered through the new man.

Truth: What is correct and precise about God

A New Man Must be Created Who Can Function in the New World System of the Spirit

The essentialism of a complete metamorphosis into the new man.

Mark 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured (absolute metamorphosis) before them.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed (METAMORPHOSIS) by the renewing (OVERHAULING) of your mind, (THE MIND AS THE “NOUS”) that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Total overhaul of the mind into a new kind of mind in essence, type, substance and kind.  An intellect and understanding adapted to the world of the Holy Spirit. The new mind will create a  metamorphosis of the new man.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed (absolute metamorphosis)  into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Eph 4: 22 That ye put off (AORIST MIDDLE TENSE- THE PROCESS OF PUTTING OFF UNTIL THE OLD MAN IS COMPLETELY PUT OFF; THE DEGREE THAT THE OLD MAN IS PUT OFF IS OUR SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY; NOT JUST THE LORD’S) about the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Continuing corruption that is lessened or increased in proportion to the lusts produced by what is deceitful.

23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; (THE MIND AS THE “NOUS”)

Overhauling of the mind in age and youthfulness.  This is not talking about a new essence, substance

24 And that ye put on ((AORIST MIDDLE TENSE- THE PROCESS OF PUTTING ON UNTIL THE NEW MAN IS COMPLETELY PUT ON; THE DEGREE THAT THE NEW MAN IS PUT ON IS IN PROPORTION TO OUR SPIRITUAL LABOR, NOT JUST THE LORD’S) the new (new in kind, quality, substance and essence) man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (HOLINESS AS A MANIFESTATION OF GODLY CHARACTER PRODUCED BY THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT IS ACCURATE, PRECISE, AND GENUINE ABOUT GOD)

The overhauling of the mind in age and youthfulness will metamorphosise the new man who is new in essence, type, kind and substance.

Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off (AORIST MIDDLE TENSE- THE PROCESS OF PUTTING OFF UNTIL THE OLD MAN IS COMPLETELY PUT OFF; THE DEGREE THAT THE OLD MAN IS PUT OFF IS IN PROPORTION TO OUR SPIRITUAL LABOR, NOT JUST THE LORD’S)) the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on ((AORIST MIDDLE TENSE- THE PROCESS OF PUTTING ON UNTIL THE NEW MAN IS COMPLETELY PUT ON; THE DEGREE THAT THE NEW MAN IS PUT ON IS IN PROPORTION TO OUR SPIRITUAL LABOR, NOT JUST THE LORD’S) the new (in age and youthfulness) man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:  (THE FULL AND PRECISE AND ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE OF the recently made and new kind of, unused, unprecedented, novel, and unheard of life THAT WILL PRODUCE THE IMAGE OF CHRIST…)

The overhauling of the mind in substance, type, essence and kind will metamorphose the new man who is new in youth and age,

Eph3: 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

To be strengthened in dominion so that the dominion will create the image of Christ in His glory within you. The proportion that we enter into the world of the Spirit is the proportion of Christ glory.

Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Or the liberty brought by the glory found in the offspring of God. Offspring because we have the blood of Christ and the nature, DNA ,and genes of God Himself.

Into the freedom procured by the glory, or belonging to the glory

The Overhauling of the Mind.

The Deliverance from Reasoning, and Doubts into the Belief of the Miraculous

Mat 16:7 And they reasoned (Doubt: Thoroughly trying to figure out) among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.

8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning (Doubt: Thoroughly trying to figure out)  in their hearts,

Luke 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye (Doubt: Thoroughly trying to figure out) in your hearts?

23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

Thinking Through, Reflections, Meditating and Understanding

 1 Peter 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

2 Peter 3:1  This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure(JUDGED BY THE SUN’S RAYS) minds by way of remembrance:

A metamorphosis of the mind which is totally delivered into a purity that allows for the sun’s rays to shine unhindered through ponderings, reflections and understanding.

Focus of life, to be Minded, Moral Interest, and What Absorbs an Individual

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Phillip 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Understanding the Laws affecting the Mind

Romans 7:22  For I delight in the law of God after (ACCORDING) the inward man:

What is a law?

25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve (SLAVE)  the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Our minds have only one purpose; that is to be a slave of the law of God found in verse twenty-two. With our mind we intuitively and progressively know His will; this is relayed to our will, which relays to our emotions, which pulls our body to obey the law of God, which is limited to the workings of The Spirit of God in our inner man.

How Do We Enter into the World or Realm of the Spirit?

Understanding Intercession in the World of the Holy Spirit.

 Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Greek: Using all general prayers and specific petitions at all times in the Spirit to carry out the state of being awake and attentively guarding all saints.  This guarding in the Spirit for all saints is executed through the means of a constant steadfast devotion and individual petitions for them.

Romans 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth( INTUITIVELY)  what is the mind ( FOCUS and MINDSET)of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Helpeth our infirmities- The Greek tells us that the Holy Spirit comes face to face with us to take a hold together with us of our infirmities and frailties.

The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us – Greek: “To hit the target above and beyond what is normal.”  I.E. “to do the right thing and do it with skill.”

Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the rhema word of God:

The intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, in the world of the Holy Spirit, as He comes to take a hold of our weaknesses, is to give us the breakthroughs, answers, and deliverances that we need with bull’s eye accuracy.  This is the sword of the Spirit at work, which is none else than the rhema word of God. The rhema word of God is the Lord’s surgical weapon (or sword) as it is wielded during intercession to discover, isolate, and spiritually operate upon the specifics of an ungodly situation that has been brought before you by the Lord in prayer.

Ephesians 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Spiritual is defined as having a spiritual origin, essence, substance, and utilizing laws for its operation that is spiritual. Hence it can only be dealt with inside of the world of the Spirit.

James 5:16  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Greek: Sufficient inward residing strength has the petitions of the righteous to energize, and make fully effective, and operational, the works of God towards displaying His kingdom. (as the Holy Spirit intercedes through the believer in the world of the Spirit according to His focus and mindset.

The Division of the Soul and the Spirit

It is crucial for us to learn how to differentiate between our souls and our spirits, and even know that the two exist.  In the original Greek New Testament the distinction is radical.  Man’s spirit, or God The Holy Spirit, is defined as a pneuma.  Our word pneumatic originates from this, and has to do with air or breath.  The Meridian Webster dictionary defines pneumatic as something that is “moved or worked by air pressure”.  Our spirit is the organ which God has given us to embrace, discern, and manifest the pneumatic or windy movements of the Holy Spirit.  Our souls were never equipped for this function!!  The human spirit is the organ that gives residence, or is home to God’s Holy Spirit.

John 4:24  God is a Spirit(pneuma): and they that worship him must worship him in spirit(pneuma) and in truth.

John 3:8  The wind(pneuma) bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.(pneumatos).

What is our soul then?  The soul (pyche or psuche in the Greek) is the combination of faculties that consists of the mind, intellect, will, and emotions.  The soul performs rational and intellectual functions.  The rational will never capture the wind!   This is why we are unable to discern God with our souls alone.

As we shall see later on, it is also impossible for God to dwell in our souls.  One of the reasons for this is that our souls are open to the attack and deception of the enemy.  This occurs because quite often our decisions are based on feelings.  God then, had to create an organ within us which is not affected either by our emotions or intellect; mainly our human spirits.  Let us see the distinction between the soul and the spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit(pneuma) and soul(psyche) and body(soma) be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul (psyche) and spirit( pneumatos) , and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts ( deep thoughts of the mind) and intents (devices) of the heart.

The role of the human spirit is generally a passive or inactive one.  The soul on the contrary is always active.  Our spirit works as a protective womb for the presence and the motions of the Spirit of the Living God within us.  It is very much connected with our hearts, and our consciences.  I would tell people that I discern the Holy Spirit somewhere in the gut of my stomach. Through its abilities, the human spirit embraces, discerns, and reveals what Jesus does in the Holy Spirit.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me

The role of our spirit is not to do, but to give an eye-witness account.  Our homes have no other function but to house its dwellers.  The building is really of no importance.  The activities that take place within it are the ones of result.  Another example is that of a bottle of Coca Cola.  The bottle is always trashed at the end.  It is the contents of the delicious soft drink that we gulp and enjoy.  A Christian then, is nothing else than a bottle for the Holy Spirit to dwell and act in.  If we are obedient, the bottle will become crystal clear, and the world will see what our Lord does.  We are “character witnesses who see, and give evidence to the reputation, conduct, and moral nature” of the indwelling Christ to a dying world. (Meridian Webster dictionary definition).

There is the carnal, (sarkikos or fleshly) the natural,(psychikos; or psychological man: the man of the soul, or psyche) and the spiritual.(pneumatikos; or spiritual  man: the man of the spirit, air, or breath)  Believers are either natural or spiritual. God desires all of us to be “pneumatic Christians; discerning the breath of the Spirit of the living God.”  Unfortunately most of us function as natural people. Let us finish our study today by looking at the second chapter of first Corinthians.

1Cor 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10   But God hath revealed them( taking the lid off) unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth(sounds out) all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

These verses explain to us that the only way for us to know instinctively the things of God is through our spirit.  God only knows how many times, and sadly enough, have we put wheels to God’s visions and plans upon the whims of our intellect and reasoning.  Now wonder our churches are so weak!

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual

“Those things we continually utter prophetically

We speak out the spiritual things that God has given us, using the inward spiritual means (prophecy, visions, revelations, knowledge and so forth.)  “Comparing” is defined as joining together, compounding, and combining. We must minister out as closely and accurately as possible to what the Lord shows us within.  Our ministry must be a compounding, combining, and a joining together with the rhema word of the Spirit, and a compounding, combining and joining together of the means that He wishes for us to execute that rhema word.

14  But the natural man(psychikos) ( receiveth(to welcome with open rams) not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (to investigate, examine and determine something so as to render a decision)

15  But he that is spiritual(pneumatikos) judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

The Conditions inside the World of the Spirit.

John 1:33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth(present participle; continually baptizing)  with (in the world and with the instrumentality)  the Holy Ghost.

Mark 1:8  I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you( Immerse, and submerge you) with ( Greek grammar case of location. Not “with” but “in”; residing within a location, or a domain, world and its sovereignty) the Holy Ghost.

While John baptized INTO the water for the forgiveness of sins, the Lord Jesus continually baptizes INTO the Holy Ghost.  Why is the baptism in the Holy Spirit so important?  Let us look at the following verse.

Location in the World of the Spirit, and Instrumentality or Influence of the World of the Spirit.

Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, (instrumentality) and in you all. ( domain and location)

Biblical baptism always entails the imbuement or submersion of one object into a second object. The submergence or immersion of the first item into a second item places the first item into the place or inside the world or domain where the second item resides.

Once, within the sphere of the second item’s world, this latter one can now exercise its influence back upon the first one, even to the point of changing the first item to resemble it, by permeating it with its qualities and characteristics.

The effect of the second item working its effect and influence back through to the first item as it permeates it and changes it is called the instrumentality of the second object.

Gal 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ( submerged into the domain, sphere, or world of Christ’s influence and sovereignty ) have put on Christ (now wear Christ, whom as clothes which totally cover us, influences and affects back through us to conform us into His image.)

I once read an excellent example of Biblical baptism.  In the days of Christ there was a recipe to create a “pickled” vegetable.  It was said that a vegetable was BAPTISED into THE LOCATION or SPHERE of a vinegar solution.  After a while, the vinegar WORKED INSTRUMENTALLY BACK through the vegetable and “pickled” it.

Tofu, likewise, acquires the taste and texture of any food that it is baptized into.  We can say that with whatever food the tofu is BAPTISED INTO, it is INSTRUMENTALLY influenced back by that food to make the tofu like it.

At a meeting several weeks ago, I saw several visions of the earth, as a globe. The Lord told me, that this was the world of the Holy Spirit, and that we need to live in it.  During the worship time I dedicated myself to going deeper into the world of the Spirit.   I suddenly saw within this world the availability of everything, as all solutions to all human needs were place and positioned in different places along the sides of this world.

By the availability of everything, I mean that all things are possible, because all things that pertain to humanity were positioned in God’s reconciled, whole, and restored state.  I saw that every disease could be healed, and every problem had an answer, because there was no disease, but only the completed healing of it, in the world of the Spirit.

Eph 1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings (all is available to us in an accomplished state because the old has passed away and the new has come) in heavenly places (but is only found as such, in the world or domain of the Spirit) in Christ

Looking above at Ephesians one and three, we see the availability of every blessing in “heavenly places” or in the world of the Holy Spirit.  Nothing is lacking in the world of the Spirit, because it has been blessed with ever blessing.  The more time that we spend submerged in this world, the more that we will find the answers to the things that we have sought the Lord for.

1 Cor 12:8  For to one is given through the Spirit (instrumentality)  the (A)  word of wisdom; and to another the ( A)  word of knowledge, according( reference, respect to, or in relationship) to the same Spirit:

8  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by(INSTRUMENTALITY) the same Spirit;

1Cor 12:8 tells us in this case the Spirit of God is the agent or vehicle by which the word of prophecy works itself back through us as we are immersed in the Spirit of God.  It would go to say, that the more that we immersed into the world of the Spirit, the greater will be the ability for prophecy to flow through us, in that the Spirit Himself, is the vehicle for prophecy to flow through.

The second term of significance is the preposition “according or according to”.  Defined, this means: “With reference or respect to, limited to, in relationship to, or bounded by.”

In other words, only the portion of the prophetical word, which is done in, and by the Spirit of God, will be correct. Once again, we can see from this example, the importance of living as much and as deeply as possible in the world of the Holy Spirit.

 1 Cor 12:9  To another faith by ( Location: In the world, or domain of the Holy Spirit0 the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by( Location: In the world, or domain of the Holy Spirit) the same Spirit;

9  To another faith by (DOMAIN OR IN THE WORLD) the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by(DOMAIN OR IN THE WORLD)  the same Spirit;

The Greek grammar is not one of instrumentality but one of place.  In other words, we receive the gifts of supernatural faith and healings INSIDE THE WORLD or domain of the Holy Spirit.

The more that we dwell submerged inside the world of the Holy Spirit, the more that will begin to experience the gift of supernatural faith, because supernatural faith, which is the faith of God Himself, lies located within the domain of this world.

Secondly, all things are available in this world, because God has blessed the world of the Spirit with every spiritual blessing.

Thirdly, not only are all things available, but they are available in their perfect and restore state

Finally, all things are possible because of the gift of God’s supernatural faith readily dwelling inside of this world.

1Co 12:10  To another the working of miracles;( THE EFFECTS OF THE WORKS OF POWER) to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

Working of miracles  More correctly the “effect operation of dunamis powers”  An effect operation is the full functionality or the effective operation of a work of God that has come forth from His invisible kingdom and is now fully visible and operational in the visible world.  We notice that the workings of miracles are nothing else than the full and effective functionality of a work of God’s power thrust into the visible world. It takes the energy of God, which effectively pushes the work of power from the invisible world to the visible as it effectively and operationally works through us. A worker of miracles must be absolutely pure so that God’s energy can work through him or her with so much operational effectiveness that the work becomes an effective operation of God’s dumamis power, hence a miracle.

2 Cor 3:17  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is,(Location: sphere or domain) there is liberty.

Greek: There, where the Spirit is, and ONLY within the domain and influence of the Spirit, EXCLUSIVE OF ANY OTHER LOCATIONS, DOMAINS, OR SOVEREIGNTIES, is there liberty.

Two Corinthians three and seventeen tells us that only inside the world of the Spirit will we find liberty, which is the result of the availability of all things now in the state reconciliation.

18  But we all, with open face ( HAVING LIFTED OFF A VEIL; PERFECT TENSE; DESCRIBING ABSOLUTE YIELDEDNESS TO THE LORD) beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,( BEHOLDING THE GLORY O F THE LORD IN A REFLECTING MIRROR)are changed (METAMORPHOSIZED) into the same image from glory to glory FROM GLORY INTO GREATER GLORY), even as by the Spirit of the Lord.( FROM THE LORD , THE SPIRIT)

Verse eighteen describes the process of biblical baptism

Gal 5:16  This I say then, Walk( The totality of our daily activities and the way that we conduct ourselves in them) in the Spirit) (Instrumental (BY), and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Greek double negative: and it will be impossible for you to fulfill the flesh’s strong desire through act of your will

Let us now look at Galatians five and sixteen. The Greek word for “walk” is the sum totals of our daily affairs, and the ways in which conduct ourselves in them.

Paul commands us TO BAPTISE every affair in our daily life into the world of the Holy Spirit so that the Spirit through His instrumentality can affect, influence, reconcile, control, and overtake every one of those affairs.

THEN, AND ONLY THEN, shall we not fulfill the lusts of the flesh!!

17For the flesh lusteth (present indicative) against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary (present middle) the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

For the flesh has a strong desire against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are continuously set one against the other so that you cannot do the things that you would

Wherever you live in the world of the Spirit it is impossible to carry out the temptations of the flesh For the Spirit is set against the flesh.   It is a place of freedom.

24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25  If we live in ( Instrumental (By)) in the Spirit, let us also walk (Greek word which is defined as“marching in the footsteps of a soldier”) in (Instrumental (By)) the Spirit.

Greek paraphrase) (It is a given that we should be living our lives not in the present day world system, but in the domain, influence, and sovereignty of the world of the Holy Spirit. Because we are being continually affected and influenced by the Spirit, in that influence and effect we must march in step as soldiers so that the Spirit’s influence can go on, deepen, intensify, and continue interrupted.

In the gospel of John we find some instances where the Lord Jesus tells us that we are not of this world system.

In Galatians five and twenty five, we then see the apostle Paul telling us that it is a given that we should be living in the world of the Spirit.  In Galatians five and twenty-five we find a wonderful example of place and instrumentality.  We live in the world of the Holy Spirit, and must march as a soldier in step to the Spirit’s workings back through us as He instrumentally influences and affect us.

Paul exhorts us to live continually in the world of the Holy Spirit, so that every action of our lives becomes permeated, influenced, affected, and controlled by the work, power, strength, and liberty of the Holy Spirit.

Victory and liberty in the Lord is found in proportion to how much the Spirit can control and take over our every action.  Victory is not found in our trying to overcome. It is found in our being submerged deep enough into the world of the Holy Spirit so that He can influence and affect us at ever point.  We are filled with the Spirit, in proportion to how much the Spirit is working back through us to influence, affect, control, and overtake our every action of ours.

Paul tells us in Galatians five and twenty-five that our lives must be lived BY THE INSTRUMENTALITY of the Spirit’s actions.

Revelation 22:2  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for (INTO) the healing of the nations.

The world of the Holy Spirit is like a tree (The tree of life?) It is the spiritual Garden of Eden.  This tree is full of what were once every disease and every human problem and need, now in its restored state. We must submerge deep enough in the Spirit to see the exact fruit that we need to pick, get to it, and then pick it by supernatural faith, and by this same supernatural faith release it upon the diseased fruit in the earthly world.  If we do not submerge deep enough, either will we not see the right fruit, or will not have the supernatural power of God to pick it, or the supernatural faith to release it back into the earthly kingdom.

Romans 8:13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

The process of baptism

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led (Present passive indicative) by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The outcome of a life that is living totally in the baptism or the world of the Spirit

John 14:20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, ( Jesus lives continually in the domain of the Father’s world  and ye in me( We must be therefore also live in the domain of Christ’s world), and I in you.(So that Christ can instrumentality work back through us, by pervading, influencing, and affecting.)

Prophecy in the World of the Spirit

John 1:33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with (Greek case of location: into the domain, world, and sphere of) the Holy Ghost.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is simply our ticket into the oceans of the Spirit. The baptism of the Spirit will not become a reality unless we dive deeper and deeper into these oceans on a daily basis.

2 Cor 2:17  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.(prophetical speech must be done in the domain or sphere of the Spirit.)

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled (by being baptized into the world of the Holy Ghost) with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak( not just the content of what is being said, but mainly the utterances or the expressions used) with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them(The instrumentality of the Spirit now working back through them as they were “located and filled inside the domain of the Spirit”, to give them prophetic utterance) utterance. (The language of prophets, ecstatic speech, miraculous verbal impulses, the oracles of seers)

The Holy Spirit not only gives to us, the content of our speech, but the expressions and utterances used to manifest it.  The deeper our lives are in the realm of the Spirit, the clearer will the content of what we must speak prophetically, and the stronger will be the verbal expressions and utterances through which it is manifested.

The prophetic flow of speech, or what the Old Testament calls prophesying the oracles of the Lord, is a flow of God’s speech, which bubbles up in our spirits. As we are filled with the Spirit of God, the bubbling of God’s speech, which rides on the surface of the waters of the Spirit, as He progressively fills us up with them, arises higher and higher upon these rising waters until it reaches the level of our mouths and flows out.

John 12:49  For I have not spoken of myself ( LOCATION: (Jesus is located within, or submerged into the Father)I absolutely have not uttered anything from my independent and exclusive self); but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment (The instrumentality of the Father working back through Jesus),what I should say, and what I should speak. (So permeated Jesus the Father, as to give to Him both the utterances and expressions of speech, and the content of the speech carried by them)

John 8;28  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he ( I am) , and that I do nothing of myself (and that from my independent and exclusive self I do nothing); but as my Father hath taught me( but as the Father has instrumentally penetrated, affected, and influenced me) I speak these things (these things I utter and express prophetically, by that divine influence which has permeated me.)

Mat 10;19  But when they deliver you up, take no thought ( don’t try to figure out or speculate) how or what ye shall speak (how the expressions and utterances of prophetic speech will come out, or what their content will be): for it shall be given you in that same hour( in the very moment that you need it)what ye shall speak.(what you shall speak prophetically)

for it is not ye that speak (For it is absolutely not you expressing and uttering forth out by your own strength) , but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in (instrumental BY) you.(But the Spirit of your Father expressing Himself back through you)

1 Cor 12:3  Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by(both the domain, location, and sphere, of the world of Christ and the instrumentality or influence of its working back through us)the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

2 Cor 13:3  Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me,(Location; domain, sphere) which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you (Instrumentality: The greatest display of Christ’s power and prophetical speech as He is located within us, is in His ministry through us to others.)

The Power of the World of the Spirit

Mat 8:8  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only  By a word, or by the instrumentality of a word.  The word itself healed the servant), and my servant shall be healed.

Herein we see the power of the world of the Spirit.  The Greek tells us, “speak by a logos word,” not the logos word, but “a” logos word, making it into a specific word with a content of healing, or a rehma word.

“By” a logos word” tells us that it is the word itself influencing and affecting the situation, causes the healing.  Jesus did not heal the servant.  The rehma word of God working through Jesus is the one, which healed.  Jesus’ life was so submerged in the Spirit of God, that He lived in the domain of supernatural faith found within this world.  Secondly, He lived in the world in which all is new and reconciled to God, and all is available.  The faith released through Him inside the word that He spoke, caused the word itself to heal the servant.

Matthew 8:16  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word (By the instrumentality of the word; Jesus did not cast out the devils, but the word of God operating in Him), and healed all that were sick:

Luke 4:32  And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with (Instrumental)  power.(His word had the “instrumentality of authority”; The word itself, in the domain of the Spirit, exercises God’s jurisdiction over the works of the enemy in the same way that a state trooper exercises jurisdiction over the interstate highways.

Luke 7:7  Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word( By a word or by the instrumentality of a word. The word itself healed the servant), and my servant shall be healed.

Luke 11:20  But if I with the finger of God(By the instrumentality of the Spirit; Jesus did not cast out the devils. The rehma word originated in the Spirit and operating through Jesus, cast out the devil) cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Nothing From Myself

John 7:17  If any man will do his will( If any one out of His own will desires to do God’s will) he shall know of the doctrine( Instrumental: teaching), whether it be of God, or whether I speak of ( from the edge of; the idea of separation or departure from) myself.( exclusively and independently from myself as a source and from none other.)

Jesus never did or spoke anything, which originated from Himself. Everything He did, originated from the Father, and was revealed to Jesus through the Holy Spirit.  Secondly, Jesus never did anything that was exclusively His ideas, agenda or timetable.  Everything, which he planned and carried out, was inclusive of what the Father desired.  Finally every action, which He took, and every word, which He spoke, was in dependency to the workings of the Holy Spirit within Him.  The Lord Jesus never acted independently from the Father.

This was the key to the Lord’s supernatural faith and miracle working power. The fact that while on the earth, the Lord lived dependent, inclusive, and originated everything with the Father, shows us the depth of Jesus life in the world of the Holy Spirit.

This is what Jesus means when he tells us that He does nothing from Himself.

To the degree that we do not seek ourselves as the ones from whom anything originates, and then carry it out independently and exclusively from God, will automatically live in the teaching of the Father.

18  He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

They that speak independently, selfishly, and exclusive, of the Spirit of God, seeks their own glory… (but they which from the world of the Spirit, allowing for the Spirit to permeate and work back through them, will be seeking the glory of God, and will speak ecstatically, prophetically, and under divine impulse, as oracles of God that will bring forth His glory.)

John 8;28  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he ( I am) , and that I do nothing of myself (and that I do nothing independently and exclusively from the Father); but as my Father hath taught me( but as the Father has instrumentally penetrated, affected, and influenced me) I speak these things (these things I utter, express, and speak prophetically, by that divine influence which has permeated me.)

John 12:49  For I have not spoken of myself ( LOCATION: (Jesus is located within, or submerged into the Father)I absolutely have not uttered anything independently and exclusively from the Father); but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment (The instrumentality of the Father working back through Jesus), what I should say, and what I should speak. (So permeated Him the Father as to give Him both the utterances and expressions of speech, and the contents of them)

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29    Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God (The Father works His works back through the disciples, as He affects and influences them in proportion to how much he or she submerges into the world of the Spirit.), that ye believe on him (Greek “INTO”; location, domain, submerging into) whom he hath sent.

Holy Spirit Led (good works), Versus Fleshly Church Programs.

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The law as in the OT is our trying to please God by our own efforts.  Grace and the ministry of the Holy Spirit is God doing everything in us

Dead works entail false compassion, soulish burdens, guilt and condemnation.

Dead works are all works done outside of the leading of the Spirit of God.

2Co 3:7  But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of  Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

A glory is energized within dead works, but it is a glory that is being rendered useless, idle, and inoperative.

All activities being done outside of the voice of God in our spirits will manifest the blessings and the glory of God temporarily.

The ministry of death must be done away. Many of these works are accomplished out of our logic and intellect, fleshly compassion, earthly or soulish what appears to be right, noble, and charitable, instead upon strict reliance to the voice of God.  To walk in the Spirit entails complete adherence and reliance upon the still, small voice.

8  How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

Much more abounds the office or ministration of the Spirit in glory.

9  For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

For all things done outside of the Spirit of God (dead works) that have been glorified by the church indeed are not glorified because much greater is the glory through the ministry of the Spirit.

11  For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

For if the thing being done away was done (dead works) through the intermediate agency of glory the things of the Spirit abide permanently in the sphere of glory

Understanding Spiritual Work

Going into the world of the spirit or “plugged into” Jesus

1 Cor 10:2  And were all baptized unto (INTO) Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3  And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

John 6:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on (INTO) him whom he hath sent.

John 7:38  He that believeth on (INTO) me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

John 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on (INTO) me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The Laws of the Spirit.

Mark 14:38  Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

The spirit is always willing and predisposed because it is always found in a state of strength, eagerness, and readiness.  The law of a predisposed spirit is the law of the eternally forward Spirit.  This is what the Greek means by the word “ready.”

John 4:11  The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

A regular well

14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

A well or spring continually fed by springs of water.

Acts 3:8  And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping , and praising God.

From the word which means to leap.  A well, or spring, continually fed by springs of water which continually leaps and gushes within us up into a constant flow of Christ’s life within us.

John 7:38  He that believeth on(INTO) me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Potamos- A river, flood or torrent. A flood can sweep down torrentially and even carry houses away. How can we stop the gushing of springs or the flow of a river?

How do we get into this flow?

39   (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Thess 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The God that brings “shalom peace” bring it into your life.  This may He do by separating you totally through, and through, from all common and profane things, and bringing you to an absolute devotion to the sacred things of God.  This sanctification is accomplished by your spirit, soul, and body each made complete, whole, and without defect, so that your life might not even have one source of just criticism placed upon it. May you be guarded and kept in this condition until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:19  Quench not the Spirit.

Do not extinguish the Spirit.

Acts 18:25  This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

To boil with heat, be hot `and it is used with the boiling of water.  Boling when it comes to liquids or glowing when it comes to solids.

Romans 12:11  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Not irksome in what has to be dispatched for the Lord’s but fervent in Spirit. Bond slavery and service to the Lord must be in the glowing and boiling of the Spirit.

Romans 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttere

The intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He comes to take a hold of our weaknesses, is to give us the breakthroughs, answers, and deliverances that we need with bull’s eye accuracy.  This, my friends, is called the sword of the Spirit at work, which is none else than the rhema word of God. The rhema word of God is the Lord’s surgical weapon (or sword) as it is wielded during intercession to discover, isolate, and spiritually operate upon the specifics of an ungodly situation that has been brought before you by the Lord in prayer.

2 Cor 7:1  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Let us wash ourselves off from every defilement so that all actions that affect the flesh and spirit can be executed matured and completed in holiness.

Understanding the Faith of God

we must live through the faith of God

Mark 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have  faith in (Have the “God kind” of faith, or the faith OF GOD!)God.

(God is in the genitive Greek case signifying possession; therefore it is “God possessing something”; in this case, “God’s possession of faith”)

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith, of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

(Greek: The life which I now live in the flesh, I live in faith, this being the faith which dwells in the Son of God. (Genitive Greek case signifying possession)

The faith flowing through Christ; even the faith that comes out of Christ living continuously in me.

Romans 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Rhema word of God.

(Greek:  So then faith gets its life from hearing, but the type of hearing, which describes faith, must be exclusively one which comes through the rhema word of God.

Faith possesses something that is called the rhema word of God.

Romans 10:8  But what saith it? The rhema word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the rhema word of faith, which we preach; (Dative relationship)

Every rhema word represents an itemized description of God’s measure of faith, as He has tailored it for every situation in which He speaks the rhema word into.  It is an account of what the Lord can carry out within a particular circumstance.

With my heart faith is exercised resulting in righteousness and with my mouth confession (homologia) is made resulting salvation.

Luke 1:37  For with God nothing( Rhema word) shall be impossible.

(The English is a poor translation:  Greek: For with God every rhema word has the (indwelling)dunamis power to come to pass.

Secondly, the rhema word not only carries with it God’s measure of faith, but also God’s dunamis power.

John 17:8  For I have given unto them the rhema words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Thirdly, every rhema word reveals the Person of Christ.  As Christ is revealed, the faith and power that He possesses, is manifested alongside with Him.

The Faith of Abraham

Romans 4:12  And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk(Greek: march as a soldier ) in the steps ( footprints) of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Romans 4:17  (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead (corpses), and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Greek translation and my paraphrase; Abraham once and for all, (aorist tense) believed God.  Who is the God whom he believed in?

Abraham believed in the God whose nature is to continuously give life to the dead i.e. (Greek; Circumstances which are so dead that they are corpse like).

He is also the God who continuously calls the things which are not, as if they are.  (The word “as” is a very interesting word.  It means in the same manner as, or having the same content).

Romans 4:18  Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Greek:  Abraham, with all hope gone, believed on a foundation of hope, that he might become the father of many nations, in relation to the rhema word which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Doctrine of works “if you do” Doctrine of faith “Do you believe”

Romans 4:19  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead ( now in a permanent state of a corpse) , when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness ( the corpse-likeness) of Sara’s womb:

He considered his own body now in a state of a corpse and the corpse of the womb of Sarah.

20  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong (Receiving God’s power)in faith, giving glory to God;

In the view of the promises of God he did not vacillate between two diametrically opposed outcomes but was strengthened with God’s dunamis power as to regards to faith, in that he maintained himself close to God at all times.

21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

What God promised He was able and capable to complete

Faith out of the Book of Hebrews

Hebrews 4:2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

As the mixing of alloys in equal proportions to produce a metal

Hebrews 6:12  That ye be not slothful( sluggard) , but followers (mimics) of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 6:5  And have tasted the good rhema word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Greek:  The rhema word of God brings the dunamis power of the coming ages into this present one.

Hebrews 10:38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Now my righteous person shall live by faith as the root source of his very life.  If he draws back in fear my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Heb 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the title deed of things hoped for, and the full assurance of things that it is impossible for us to see in the present.

2  For by it the elders obtained a good report.

The ancient men of God through faith so lived that they obtained a good witness

Hebrews 11:3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed (equipped) by the rhema word  of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Greek: The worlds were framed by the rhema word of God, so that the things that we presently see with our eyes were made out of things that cannot be seen by the eye.  In other words, God always creates what is physically evident to us, out of things which are physically invisible, through the rhema word.  This is the title deed of the rhema word.

The word “framed” is the same word used for the mending of the fishing nets by the apostle Peter.  It is also defined as the full equipping towards the successful carrying out of a mission.  The “framing” of the United States armed forces in the Persian Gulf Crisis tell us that they were furnished with the quality and measure of armaments, food, gear, and clothing that were needed to give them a total victory.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Without faith there is a vacuum of dunamis power to please God.

Hebrews 11:7  By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Being divinely instructed and admonished about the things that he could not see with human the human eyes

“The things yet not seen” what was what well known to Noah, or what had a three dimensional substance to him.   The physical world acquired no reality or became simply two-dimensional.

8  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

He was called was in the present tense.

He obeyed-   Greek: “a military submission to hearing”

He went out; As we go out with the word of God.

Not knowing ‘Having nothing in the physical realm which was set and standing before him so that he could grasp and follow.  He had no acquaintance with what God had called him to do.

27  By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Moses dominated and endured by seeing with discernment in the Spirit what was invisible or void of discernment in the natural or to the human eye. His substance was the rhema word of God.  The natural world was not a reality to him.

Hebrews 11:29  By faith they passed through(A thorough stepping through) the Red sea as by dry land:( just like if going through dry land) which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. (Were swallowed up; the outcome of having no faith)

Hebrews 11:30  By faith (The domain and instrumentality of faith ) the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about ( encircled upon) seven days.

Hebrews 11:31  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not (In absolutely no way was destroyed together; the outcome of faith)  with them that believed not (non-compliant or in persuadable to the voice of God; non-Christians and Christians alike), when she had received the spies with peace.

Hebrews 11:33  Who through faith subdued ( overcame after contending in a military battle or contest)  kingdoms, wrought (worked out to the point of complete execution)  righteousness, obtained promises, stopped (blocked, stopped and closed up)  the mouths of lions,

34  Quenched the violence of fire (The inherent dunamis power of fire), escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong(Went diametrically from the point of infirmity and weakness to the point of being strengthened with God’s dunamis power) , waxed valiant in fight,(received sufficient inner strength to contend in war)  turned to fight the armies of the aliens.

How Do we Live by Faith?

Romans 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Verses seventeen and twenty of Romans one tells us that the righteousness of God, are the mighty deeds of an invisible God who dwells in the heavens, made visible for us upon the earth.

Romans 3:27  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

A law declares to us that under a particular set of circumstances; specific results will always come about, without fail.

The law of faith operates in this fashion.

The voice of the Holy Spirit wills or desires something within us.

His desire is translated for us as a rhema word.

If we hear and obey the rhema word it reveals Christ Jesus within us who will labor His grace to bring it to pass.

His accomplished grace in us is translated into His righteousness, or His accomplished work of grace that makes us Christ like.

This is the law of faith!  This law will never ever fail and will allow us to overcome, become set fee, and get every single victory all by a simple step by step obedience to the voice of the Holy Ghost apart from our own efforts.  Obedience, grace, righteousness; all of faith, and all of the Lord.

Romans 3:31  Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

We establish. “We establish,” in this verse is in the present tense.  This means that we make the Old and the New Testament and what it has for us to stand and thus be effective from moment to moment by a life of faith.

Romans 4:6  Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Blessedness:  This word is defined as a blessed happiness or a state of inward happiness.

The man or woman of God that live by faith come into a state of happiness which is the result of the liberty in Christ that is produced in them by their living by the law of faith apart from their own efforts.

Romans 7: 25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve (I am a bond-slave to) the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans seven and twenty five tells us that our minds were created to be a slave of the law of God.  As we have learned, the law of God, is the “law of faith” found in Romans three and twenty seven.

The law of God is the voice of God within us, which has His faith. When we obey His word, His righteous deeds released to equip His particular word. The law of faith tells us that at every instance that we work by faith, which is God’s rhema word, God’s righteous deeds are released to meet and equip His rhema word.

Gal 3:2  This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith

Greek paraphrase:  Do we receive the things of the Spirit by our own efforts and strength, or by a hearing that is made up purely out of, and promotes a walk of faith?

Gal 3:5  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Greek paraphrase:  He that supplies, furnishes and ministers to you the things of the Spirit, and likewise works of dunamis power(s), does He do it through your own efforts and strength, or through a hearing that is made out purely of, and promotes a walk of faith?

Gal 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Greek paraphrase : The only thing  that has any inward strength to execute God’s outward dominion and victory for us in our lives is  faith that is energized by a walk of divine and self-sacrificial love.

Basic Principle of the Rhema Word in Living By Faith

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy RHEMA I will let down the net.

The disciples of Jesus had been painfully laboring throughout the night to catch fish, and had accomplished little.  This account describes perfectly the activity of our churches.  Much of our goings-on have been spent upon programs, agendas, and committees, and little upon the guidance, strategy, and power of the Holy Spirit through the rhema.  Notice that the “one rhema” of Jesus brought a huge catch.

John 15:7  If ye abide in me, and my RHEMAS abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Many times we take the name of Jesus as a “magic wand” and have believed that asking in that name will get us anything we want.  My brothers and sisters, our asking and receiving must always be in accordance to the rhema of God.  God will always honor his rhema word since it comes from Him.  According to His rhema, our prayers will always be answered, and we will get anything that we ask for!

 Ephesians 5:25  Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 5:26  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the RHEMA.

These scriptures “hit home” at one of the very major problems within our churches today.  The church will only be purified and made holy by the revelatory word of God.  The rhema is what washes the bride of Christ and heals and restores it.  Let me ask you a question.  If the flow of spiritual gifts is curtailed in our congregations, and the rhema is quenched, how will the church ever be washed and made holy?

Ephesians 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the RHEMAof God:

It is time for us to know that the only offensive weapon that we have against Satan and his schemes such as sickness, bondage, and sin is the rhema word of God.  If we don’t know how to work in the revelatory word of God, we will never attain a complete victory against the devil, the world, and the flesh!

Peter 1:25  But the RHEMA of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the RHEMA which by the gospel is preached unto you

Finally my beloved brothers and sisters; our witnessing and evangelism must be always done in the power of God through the rhema, if it is it to be truly effective.  Evangelism programs are good yes, but without the living word spoken into the lives of every lost soul that we meet, the effectiveness of every program will be limited.

A Study in the Faith of Jesus

The Might and Ability of Faith

Mark 10:27  And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Greek paraphrase: God is capable and able, and mighty and strong to successfully carry out His will in every affair in heaven and upon the earth.

Luke 18:27  And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Greek paraphrase: In all those things that people find impossible to carry out because they have no power, God is able and capable, and strong and mighty to accomplish.

Mark 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible  to him that believeth.

If you have the ability to believe for something, without allowing for a chronic pattern of doubt to set in, that very thing that you believe for becomes transformed into something, mighty and strong and powerful and capable to get what you are seeking for.

Understanding Aorist Faith

Mat 8:8  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word ( Greek: a word)) only, and my servant shall be healed.

9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go (aorist), and he goeth; ( present ) and to another, Come,( present) and he cometh;( present) and to my servant, Do this (aorist), and he doeth it(present)

In verse eight of Matthew eight, we find the centurion dialoguing with Jesus and acknowledging that His rhema word spoken in regards to the sickness of his servant would result in his complete healing.  The phrase “shall be healed”, is in the indicative mood.

If you can remember from our earlier studies, this Greek mood describes a statement of fact, an absolute certainty, and a done deal.  The centurion is in fact relaying to Jesus that he is aware that the Lord’s rhema word will carry out with absolute certainty all that it intends to do.  This is what deeply touched the Lord.

The “aorist tense” in the Greek, can be compared to our “past tense” in the English. Simply speaking, it describes a past occurrence.  However, the Greek aorist tense is stronger than our English past tense.

This verb tense has the element of “punctiliar action.” This fancy word in reality means nothing more than a “punctuation” or “punctuation mark” in the succession of time.  Can you see the similarity between punctiliar and punctuation? Whenever we place a question mark, a period, and a comma as we write, we insert one mark with our pens in the sequence of time and go on with our writing. This one single event jotted down in one moment of time, is called punctiliar action.  I call the use of the aorist tense, “punctuation in time.”

The present tense describes action which is presently and continuously occurring in the here and now i.e.; “at this very moment.”

Mark 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith(Present) in ( Have the “God kind” of faith, or the faith OF GOD!) God. (God is in the genitive Greek case of “ God possessing something”, hence His possessing faith).

23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed(Aorist), and be thou cast(Aorist) into the sea; and shall not doubt(Aorist) in his heart, but shall believe(Aorist) that those things which he saith shall come to pass(Present); he shall have whatsoever he saith.( future indicative).

24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe(present) that ye receive them(present), and ye shall have them.(future indicative)

“As” Thou Hast Believed

Matthew 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Matthew 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

The word “as” has a powerful connotation in New Testament scriptures.  It is defined by some of the following terms;   As, like, even as, just like, in the same way, and a carbon copy of.

In Matthew eight and thirteen, Jesus in fact tells the centurion, that in the very specific thing that he has targeted his belief for, that very targeted thing he will receive.

When we ask in Jesus’ Name, our request must be very specifically targeted to what we want. From the rhema word that Jesus grants us in His name, we find ourselves with a host of things that we can request from the Lord within the sphere of the rhema word.  Any specific point that we target our request for, believing, which is void of the two types of doubting taught above, we will receive as a specific carbon copy or reduplication of what we requested. The specific thing that we ask for believing is the specific thing that we receive.

Matthew 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.( LET IT BECOME OR BE CREATED FOR YOU)

In Matthew nine and twenty-nine the “according to your faith” is very similar to the word “as”. In other words we will receive from the Lord in proportion to our faith.  Receiving is a matter of degrees. The more is the proportion of our faith, to believe without doubting, the greater will be the proportion of our receiving.  Our faith, or lack thereof, directly limits what we will receive or not receive from the Lord.

The Authority of Faith

A very important quality of God’s faith, is that resident within it lies God’s authority to cause circumstances and situations to submit to the faith itself, change them and line them up to God’s rhema word. Let us analyze three scriptures below.

Matthew 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

The so be it done unto thee” is in the Greek imperative mood or the mood of command.  The faith of the centurion has God’s inherent authority to command circumstances to change and line up in accordance to what the centurion specifically targeted for in his request.

Matthew 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

The “be it unto you” is in the Greek imperative mood.  In reality what Jesus tells them is that their faith commanded the circumstances that kept them blind to change and line up into God’s normalcy for vision.

Matthew 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Your faith has commanded the future circumstances to line up and submit to and finally give to you what you want.

Faith In The Perfect Tense

In the beginning of our study, we dealt with the Greek perfect tense.  We discussed that the Greek perfect tense defines an event completed in the past, but its results and impact are eternal, affecting and influencing us today, and in our future.

Matthew 9:22  But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Hath made thee whole is in the Greek perfect tense.  The faith of the women completely healed her with the results that her healing is secure from now, the future, and until the time of her natural death, unless she sins and opens up a door to the enemy

Mark 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Here Jesus tells the woman “Thy faith has cured you now and forevermore.” The faith itself accomplished it with a completed and everlasting result.  Jesus then tells the woman; “Immediately go into a continual and enduring state of shalom peace brought about by being whole and sound from your plague.

Jesus Intuitive Knowledge of Our Faith.

Matthew 9:2  And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

Matthew 9:22  But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw  her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 2:5  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

The three instances “seeing” and “saw” is a Greek word that can be interchanged between physical seeing and intuitive knowledge.  God communicates Himself to us in our spirits by intuitive knowledge. There are two types of knowledge.  There is the acquired knowledge that we progressively use to learn by studying and researching.  The other knowledge, which is intuitive, tells us immediately that a dress is blue.  God speaks to us in this way. We intuitively know, and step out and obey.

As I just stated, the physical seeing described comes from exactly the same Greek word for the intuitive seeing or the intuitive knowledge of the Lord Jesus.  Jesus must intuitively know a level of faith in us that will prompt Him to act to act on our behalf and grant to us what we want. Until He intuitively knows a faith level in us that does not doubt the mountains and circumstances in our lives will at best be only partially altered.

Belief

Matthew 17:20  And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove (FUTURE MIDDLE INDICATIVE “it will happen without fail by the inherent power resident in faith”)  and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 21:21  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done (FUTURE MIDDLE INDICATIVE “it will happen without fail by the inherent power resident in faith”)

Mark  11:21  And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

23  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

If you can believe without creating a distinction or a difference that causes you to hesitate between the impossibilities of physical circumstance versus what miracles God says He can perform through them; the content of what you speak no matter as many are the things, whatsoever they are, or how great, and difficult, and much they are  that make up that content, it will come into existence for you

Mustard Seed Faith

Luke 17:5  And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Heb 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Mustard seed faith is three-dimensional faith. A grain of mustard is three-dimensional. In Hebrews eleven and one we are told that faith must have substance.  In John one and fourteen we are told that the Word of God must become flesh.

In all of these instances we see that faith must become a reality to us.  More than that, faith must become our ONLY reality. The reality of faith, and the rhema word of God must become OUR ONLY REALITY.  It is what must become three dimensional to us.  Our circumstances must all become two-dimensional and our UNREALITY.

Let us look at a few excerpts from the book of Hebrews.

Mat 13:31  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

In Matthew thirteen and thirty-one we see the parable of the kingdom of God, which a man took.  The word for “took” is the Greek word “receive”.  To receive, as we will study in the next section is, to get something for ourselves, own it, and make it into an integral and real part of our life. The word of God must become our substance and our reality just like the three dimensionality of a grain of mustard. Once that our faith operates like this and our physical world holds no reality over the voice of God we sow the revelation of the three dimensional word into the outer world bringing forth the kingdom and producing miracles.

Luke 13:19  It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

We see a very similar parable in Luke thirteen and nineteen. The man received the word of God and made it into  part of His life, by making it into THE REALITY of his life. Out of the three dimensionality of this word he then cast out into the garden of the physical world creating the miraculous kingdom of God.

The Causative Action of Faith

Exodus 8:5  And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

Receiving

1 Corinthians 4:7  For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst  not receive ? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst  not received it?

Receiving in the Bible is not a mental recognition or a temporary belief that what we ask God, He automatically gives to us without the work of faith involved. To receive, is to get something for ourselves, possess it, and make it into an integral and real part of our life. First Corinthians four and seven tells us that everything that we want from God, by faith must be obtained, possessed, and incorporated, into our hearts before we see it becoming a reality for us in our external word.

Mark 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive  them, and ye shall have them.

Through this I tell you that as many things, whatsoever they are, or as great as, as far as, how much, how many they are, while in praying to God, you request, believing that you have obtained them, possessed them, and made it your very own at the moment of your asking, shall become a reality in the future for you

Matthew 21:22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive

How many are the things, whatsoever they are, or how great, and difficult, and much they are, requested from God without doubt, you shall get, posses, and make it into an integral and real part of our life in the future.
