The Sciences of Eternal Life

“Living organisms undergometabolism, maintainhomeostasis, possess a capacity togrow, respond tostimuli, reproduceand, throughnatural selection, adapt to their environment in successive generations.” Wikipedia

Wikipedia gives a good designation of what life is, from a scientific view-point.

A living organism undergoes metabolism. Metabolism is a set of chemical reactions in living organisms essential to the maintaining of life.  There are two parts to metabolism. Catabolism breaks down organic matter to release required energy.  Such is respiration.  Anabolism does the opposite, by utilizing energy to create components of cells, such as proteins.

Homeostasis, composed of two Greek words, is defined as “similar standing.”  It is the tendency of a living organism to support a healthy living state.

Healthy growth is the constant growth, replication, and multiplication, of living cells either by binary fission, mitosis or meiosis.

“Finally, reproduction is the biological process by which offspring of individual organisms are produced from their parents.” Wikipedia

This process entails the creation and division of parental chromosomes to their offspring.

Rom 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

How much greater is the law of the eternal type of life found in the Lord Jesus?

I visualize eternal life as an exponential escalation in metabolism, homeostasis, growth, and reproduction.  I believe that the anabolism found in eternal life far exceeds catabolism in the natural life.

The homeostasis of Christ’s life is greater than the necrosis (death of tissue) found in natural disease.

The growth and replication of cells in eternal life far surpasses anything which the human body can create.

1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Eternal life gulps down natural death by an incessant state of conquest and triumph. Of course we all die, and that because of sin. But right to the end, the Christian can live in a continuing state of victory, triumph and conquest.

Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The believer has a well of eternal type of life leaping and springing in himself, for himself, and for others.

Put it to use and create this eternal type of life in you and for others.
