Rev 11:3 And I will give power to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand, two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:5 And if anyone will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone will hurt them, so it is right for him to be killed.
Rev 11:7 And when they complete their testimony, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war against them and will overcome them and kill them.
Rev 11:9 And many of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will see their dead bodies three days and a half, and they will not allow their dead bodies to be put in tombs.
Rev 11:10 And the ones who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, and will make merry, and will send one another gifts, because these two prophets tormented those living on the earth.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and a half, a spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. And great fear fell on those seeing them.
Rev 11:13 And in that hour a great earthquake occurred, and the tenth part of the city fell. And seven thousand names of men were slain in the earthquake. And the rest were frightened and gave glory to the God of Heaven.
The sinful human condition of man which separates him from God is a tragic one. It has gone on for thousands of years. Mankind has learned little about God throughout the centuries. In spite of great technological advances, our improvement of the knowledge of God is at the best insignificant. As America stands on the precipice of moral and financial disaster, she has yet to invoke His help and mercy.
What was then is now, and what is now, will also be tomorrow. Mankind usually turns to God only in the midst of disaster.
No one can ever blame God for His goodness.
In chapter 11 of the Book of Revelation, God sends two prophets in times of global calamity to share His good news with the world. People reject and kill them, and congratulate each other at their deaths with parties and gift giving. There is no sign of repentance and turning to God while they preached, even though the world was in dire straits.
However after God resurrects them, His sends calamity and catastrophe via an earthquake, and suddenly many repent and come to Him.
How sad, that it is only in misfortune that men turn to God. If people would see that God’s intention is not for people to turn to Him via chastisement, but rather that they enjoy Him daily, the world would be vastly better.
America appears to be going the way of catastrophes and calamities. This is not the will of God. Even in the garbage that America is negotiating, our political leaders remain blind and deaf. At Governor Rick Perry’s prayer summit yesterday one governor was present out of the 49 invited. Two percent! Every governor should had attended and prayed to God for our country.
I am sad to say that I think our country will have to go the way of calamity and catastrophe to begin waking up.
